Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Bright Beans Media, LLC (“Bright Beans Media,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), doing business as Metric Moose, operates the Metric Moose publishing and SEO analytics dashboard (the “Service”) and the metricmoose.com website (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service or the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register for the Service, we collect your name, email address, and a password (which we store only in hashed form). If you contact us or request support, we collect the information you provide.
Data from services you connect. The core purpose of the Service is to display analytics, search, video, content, and subscriber data from platforms you choose to connect — such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, YouTube, and email and content management platforms. When you connect a platform, we collect and store the credentials needed to access it (such as OAuth refresh tokens or API keys) and the data returned by that platform that is necessary to provide the Service to you. We only access data for the properties and accounts you authorize.
Usage and device data. When you use the Service or Site, we automatically collect standard log information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and the dates and times of access. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 8.
2. Connected Google Accounts and Data
Metric Moose lets you connect your Google account so the dashboard can display your own analytics and search data. When you connect Google, we request read-only access to the following, only as needed for the features you use:
- Google Analytics (GA4) —
analytics.readonly - Google Search Console —
webmasters.readonly - YouTube Data (where you connect a channel) — read-only access
We use this data solely to retrieve and display your metrics, reports, and audits within Metric Moose, at your request. We store an OAuth refresh token (held securely at the account level) so the dashboard can refresh your data on your behalf, together with the metric results needed to render your dashboards. You can disconnect at any time in Settings → Analytics & Tracking, or revoke our access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect, we delete the stored token.
Limited Use. Metric Moose’s access to, use of, and transfer of information received from Google APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, do not allow humans to read it except as necessary for security, to comply with the law, or where you have given explicit consent, and do not transfer it to others except as necessary to provide or improve the Service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with appropriate notice.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service and Site;
- authenticate you and secure your account;
- retrieve and display your analytics, search, video, content, and subscriber data and generate reports and audits;
- send you transactional messages, such as account confirmations, security notices, and responses to your requests;
- monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service and prevent fraud or abuse; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use data from your connected platforms for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to host our application and database, deliver transactional email, and measure site traffic. These providers process information only on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations, and only as needed to provide their services to us.
- People you authorize. If you grant team members access to a property, the data for that property is visible to them within the Service.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bright Beans Media, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, with notice consistent with this policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is encrypted in transit, credentials and tokens are stored with access controls, and access to production systems is limited. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain data from connected platforms only as long as the connection is active and the data is needed to provide the Service; when you disconnect a platform, we delete its stored credentials. When you close your account or request deletion, we delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update. You can view and update your account information within the Service.
- Disconnect data sources. You can disconnect any connected platform at any time in the Service’s settings, and revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete your data. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at support@brightbeansmedia.com.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. We honor applicable rights — contact us to make a request.
8. Cookies and Site Analytics
The Service uses cookies that are necessary for signing in and keeping you logged in. The Site may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our pages so we can improve them. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not function without them.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
We operate from the United States, and your information will be processed and stored there. By using the Service or Site, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your country.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service or Site after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
